Effective Date: November 11, 2024
This Payment Policy outlines the terms and conditions governing all payments on CodeBuySell, covering revenue shares, payout schedules, processing fees, tax responsibilities, and policy compliance.
1. Revenue Share and Payout Structure
- Vendor Revenue Share: Vendors earn an 80% revenue share on each product sold, calculated after applicable taxes and platform fees. This revenue share applies to every sale made on CodeBuySell for the lifetime of the product listing.
- Payout Timing: Payouts to Vendors are processed on a 30-day delay following each sale. This waiting period allows CodeBuySell to verify transaction integrity and address any potential disputes or refunds.
- Payment Frequency: Vendor payments are issued monthly once the 30-day delay period has passed for each transaction.
- Thresholds and Minimum Balance: CodeBuySell may impose a minimum payout threshold (e.g., $50) to streamline processing. Vendors with a balance below the minimum threshold will roll over their earnings to the following payout cycle.
2. Payment Method and Currency
- Supported Payment Methods: CodeBuySell supports payouts through standard methods, such as direct bank transfer, PayPal, or other options listed in the Vendor’s account. Vendors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of their payment details.
- Currency: Payments are made in U.S. dollars (USD) unless otherwise specified. Vendors are responsible for any currency conversion fees if their bank or payment method requires a different currency.
- Processing Fees: Any processing fees related to the Vendor’s chosen payout method are the Vendor’s responsibility. CodeBuySell may deduct processing fees directly from the Vendor’s earnings before disbursement.
3. Tax Obligations
- Tax Reporting: Vendors are responsible for reporting income earned from CodeBuySell and complying with all relevant tax laws. CodeBuySell may request tax documentation or identification information as required by law, such as W-9 forms for U.S. Vendors or other forms for international Vendors.
- Withholding Taxes: In certain jurisdictions, CodeBuySell may be required to withhold taxes on payments to Vendors. In such cases, withholding will be calculated according to local laws, and the net payout will reflect this deduction.
- Sales Tax: CodeBuySell collects applicable sales tax from buyers and remits it according to jurisdictional requirements. Vendors are not responsible for collecting sales tax on transactions conducted through the platform.
4. Refunds, Chargebacks, and Disputes
- Refunds: CodeBuySell may issue refunds to buyers based on certain circumstances, such as a product failing to meet quality standards or disputes over functionality. In such cases, the refunded amount will be deducted from the Vendor’s earnings.
- Chargebacks: If a chargeback is initiated by a buyer, CodeBuySell reserves the right to withhold the disputed amount from the Vendor’s account until the chargeback is resolved. Vendors are expected to cooperate fully in resolving chargebacks.
- Resolution Process: Vendors are encouraged to maintain open communication with buyers to resolve issues quickly. CodeBuySell reserves the right to mediate disputes and make final decisions regarding refunds or chargebacks.
5. Compliance and Policy Violations
- Policy Adherence: Vendors must comply with all platform policies, including quality and conduct standards, to remain eligible for payouts. Violations may lead to temporary or permanent suspension of payouts or account privileges.
- Suspension of Payments: CodeBuySell may temporarily suspend payouts if a Vendor is found in violation of this policy or if there is an unresolved dispute involving the Vendor’s account. Vendors will be notified of any suspension and given an opportunity to address the issue.
- Right to Adjust: CodeBuySell reserves the right to adjust this Payment Policy and make changes to the payout structure, payment methods, and frequency. Vendors will be notified of any changes via email or platform notification.
